Irvine, Calif. – September 4, 2013 – Del Taco announced today the introduction of the CrunchTada™ Tostada and CrunchTada™ Pizzas. Featuring layers of fresh ingredients all cooked, chopped and grilled in Del Taco kitchens throughout the day, the CrunchTada Tostada and CrunchTada Pizzas are the first new menu innovations since Del Taco relaunched its brand earlier this year and promised to introduce new, craveable menu items.
Differentiating the CrunchTada Tostada from traditional tostadas is its thick corn shell, resulting in unmatched crunchiness. The wavy tostada shell hugs the layers of tasty fresh ingredients including slow-cooked beans, freshly-grated cheddar cheese, Del Taco’s signature taco sauce and crisp lettuce. Priced at $1.00, the CrunchTada Tostada is the latest addition to the Buck & Under Menu, which offers the best variety of fresh items for one dollar or less.

Layers of Fresh Ingredients
Both the CrunchTada Tostada and CrunchTada Pizzas start with the same crunchy, thick, wavy corn tostada shell. Each shell takes shape during cooking and no two are ever alike. The CrunchTada Tostada adds slow-cooked beans, taco sauce, crisp lettuce and freshly-grated cheddar cheese. These fresh ingredients combined with the crunchy shell results in a one-of-a-kind auditory and taste experience. For guests that crave the combination of protein, cheeses and more layers of flavor, the Beef CrunchTada Pizza ($2.29) and Chicken CrunchTada Pizza ($2.49) have extra toppings and extra flavors.
Beef CrunchTada Pizza includes slow-cooked beans, seasoned beef, nacho cheese, taco sauce, freshly-grated cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes and cilantro on top of the thick, crunchy corn shell while Chicken CrunchTada Pizza features slow-cooked beans, marinated grilled chicken, nacho cheese, creamy chipotle sauce, freshly-grated cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes and cilantro. CrunchTada Pizzas are available a la carte or in a meal with a regular taco and a small drink.
