“We know there are a lot of great burgers out there, and we’re honored to have the Double Del recognized. This is especially sweet as it comes from fast food consumers,” said Paul Murphy, CEO of Del Taco. “Our Double Del Cheeseburger is another way Del Taco boldly delivers great taste and quality for our customers.”
Del Taco has combined burgers, fries and shakes with its varied Mexican menu since the chain was founded in 1961. The Double Del Cheeseburger is made with two fresh, never frozen beef patties, two slices of cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato slices, onions and secret sauce on a sesame seed bun. The Double Del debuted in the 1990’s and has since developed a loyal following of raving fans.
This isn’t the first time Del Taco has been honored for its burger. In 2007, Del Taco was ranked as one of the Top 5 burger joints in Los Angeles by top5inla.blogspot.com. The blog writer explained “ I know what most people are thinking…”Why would I order a burger from a taco stand? Just try it. You will see what you have been missing.“
